Caitlin McGarry has joined Gizmodo as a consumer technology editor. She comes from Tom’s Guide where she served as a senior writer for more than two years covering smartphones, wearables and fitness technology. Prior to that, McGarry worked for IDG Consumer under the Macworld vertical for two years.
Rolling Stone has named Ethan Millman as a staff writer covering the vast music industry. He most recently worked at The Wall Street Journal as a business reporting intern. Millman also previously served as executive editor for Arizona State University’s student media publication, The State Press.
Rachel Frazin has switched beats for The Hill. She has held the breaking news beats for over a year and now covers energy and the environment for the outlet. She most recently worked as an intern for the Chicago Sun-Times.
The Washington Post has promoted Will Englund to energy reporter in Business. He will cover energy companies, corporations' responses to climate change and other environmental challenges. Englund has been with The Washington Post since 2010 where he began serving as a correspondent based in Moscow, Russia.
Dave Sebastian has been promoted at The Wall Street Journal to a breaking news reporter covering business and financial industry news. He joined the outlet in the summer of 2019 as an intern. Prior to that he was a business and technology editor for Boston University News Service.
Bloomberg Law has assigned new beats for reporter Perry Cooper. She now covers patent appeals at the Federal Circuit, and previously covered class action litigations for over five years. Cooper has been with the outlet in 2012 as a legal editor.
Brianna Kovan has joined Bustle as features editor. She comes from Elle Magazine where she spent more than six years in various roles ranging from editorial assistant to most recently serving as a culture editor. Prior to that she was a sub-editor and researcher for Boat Magazine for over one year.
KJRH-TV, the NBC station in Tulsa, Oklahoma, has named Gerardo Lopez news director. He had been serving as the station's interim news director since November 2019. He most recently worked as an assistant news director for KMGH-TV in Denver, Colorado, and previously spent more than two years with KXAS-TV in Dallas as a managing editor.
Angie Moreschi has joined WPXI-TV, the NBC station in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, as an investigative reporter. She most recently spent 13 years at Bay News 9 in Tampa, Florida, as an anchor / reporter.
WDEN-FM in Macon, Georgia, has tapped James Bierley as morning show co-host to beef up their AM drive time lineup. He will co-host “The Morning Show with Laura and James” airing weekdays from 5:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. He previously spent more than four years at WGTR-FM in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, as a morning co-host.
