Yolanda Wikiel has joined Parents magazine as food and lifestyle director, a newly created role. She comes from Airbnb Magazine, where she had served as senior editor since 2018. Prior to that, she worked for Hearst Magazines as deputy editor of Redbook. Wikiel had also spent 16 years at Real Simple in various editorial roles including senior editor, staff editor and fashion editor.
The Detroit News has hired Jordyn Grzelewski as a reporter on the Auto team. She was most recently a business reporter at The Plain Dealer and covered real estate for a year. Prior to that, Grzelewski reported on news in Ohio's Mahoning Valley area for the Vindicator Printing Company.
Charles Paikert is the new New York-based contributor for RIABiz. He was previously a senior editor at Financial Planning magazine where he spent seven years covering the the business of wealth management and family offices. Paikert has also worked for Family Wealth Report and Investment News.
Law360 will welcome Steven Edelstone as an editor at the end of April. He comes from Paste magazine, where he spent the past five years writing multi-interview features and reviews, most recently as album reviews editor. Edelstone has also contributed to The New York Times and Rolling Stone.
KPRC-TV, the NBC station in Houston, has hired Kris Gutierrez as an evening anchor. He appears on the 5, 6 and 10 p.m. newscasts. He comes from KXAS-TV in Dallas, where he was an anchor for five years. Gutierrez has also worked for WBBM in Chicago and Fox News Channel.
Jonathan Brines is the new assistant news director for WSIL-TV, the ABC station in Harrisburg, Illinois, and serving Southern Illinois, Southeast Missouri, the Purchase area of Western Kentucky, and Northwest Tennessee. Brines comes from Sinclair Broadcasting, where he was an executive producer and assistant news director of KTVL-TV in Southern Oregon.
