Courtney Kan has been named a project editor for the Washington Post. Kan comes from the paper's Design department where she spent five years working on numerous projects. She joined The Post in 2016 from the Arizona Republic, where she was the A1 and projects designer.
Condé Nast has announced a slew of editorial promotions and additions at Vanity Fair:
Bloomberg News has named Doug Alexander the editor of the agriculture and meats team in Toronto. Canada. He will assume his new duties in September 2020. Alexander is currently a reporter at Bloomberg's Toronto bureau and for the past 16 years has covered Canadian banks, financial-services firms and capital markets for the news service. Prior to that, Alexander was a reporter on the business and city desks at The Vancouver Sun.
Joshua Sophy has been promoted to editor of Small Business Trends. He is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the newsroom and oversees reporting which helps business owners and entrepreneurs stay aware of important recent developments that could affect them and their businesses. Sophy joined Small Business Trends as a breaking news and tech writer in 2013, and most recently served as assistant editor.
HousingWire has tapped James Kleimann as mortgage editor. He comes from the Real Deal, where he spent five years, most recently as managing web editor. Kleimann has also previously served as a supervising reporter and editor at NJ Advance Media, as well as as a reporter for two AOL-Patch sites in Bergen County, New Jersey.
