CNBC Business has announced a couple of promotions at the network’s “Squawk on the Street” show, and a lateral move at the “Power Lunch” program:

·         Lauren Alperstein has been named senior producer on “Squawk on the Street.” She was most recently a producer on the 10 a.m. hour and has been with CNBC since 2015. Prior to that, she was a producer at Bloomberg AP.

·         Ben Thompson has been named senior producer on “Squawk on the Street.” He is a 12-year veteran of the network, and most recently worked as a coordinating producer for “Squawk on the Street” and “Squawk Alley.” He joined CNBC from CN8, The Comcast Network where he was a producer for “Nitebeat with Barry Nolan.”

·         Kristin Cwalinski has shifted to “Power Lunch” as senior producer. She was most recently a senior producer for “Fast Money,” a position she has held since she joined CNBC in 2013. Prior to that, she was a producer on the “Countdown to the Closing Bell with Liz Claman” on Fox Business Network.

Grady Trimble has joined Fox Business Network as a Chicago-based business reporter and covers the auto industry, agriculture and commodities market and breaking news. Prior to that, he was a producer at WTSP-TV in St. Petersburg, Florida, and a multimedia journalist WCSH-TV in Portland, Maine.

The Washington Post Features desk has welcomed Maura Judkis as a style general assignment reporter. She has been with The Post since 2011 and most recently wrote for the Food section covering the restaurant industry’s sexual harassment problem, food trends, developments in smart kitchen technology, and more.  Before The Post, Judkis reporter for TBD, U.S. News & World Report, and Washington City Paper.  

Brett Anderson has joined the Food desk of The New York Times for the next year as a contributing writer based in New Orleans. He is formerly of The Times-Picayune in New Orleans and has spent nearly 20 years covering the restaurant scene in the Crescent City as the dining critic. He has also previously written for The Times and has written about gumbo in New Orleans restaurants and the rise of Japanese cuisine in Austin, Texas, and more.   

The Marshall Project has announced the addition of two reporters both part of a new team focusing on the high incarceration states of the American South:

·         Jamiles Lartey has joined as a New Orleans-based reporter. He previously worked as a reporter for The Guardian US and covered race, criminal justice and the southern American states.

·         Cary Aspinwall has joined as a Dallas-based reporter. She previously worked on the investigations team at The Dallas Morning News since 2016. Most of her work has focus in criminal justice and she has previously worked for The Frontier in Tulsa, Oklahoma, a publication she co-founded, as well as Tulsa World and the Arizona Republic.

Natasha Verma will join KUSA-TV, the NBC station in Denver, Colorado, as morning anchor in late August. She was most recently a reporter and anchor for NBC Boston for three years and her last day at the station was July 23. Verma is a cancer survivor and motivational speaker.

WKHX-FM country radio in Atlanta, Georgia, has named Corey Dylan midday host. He joined the station in February as a host on the “Caddy & Corey” show and before that worked as an on-air guest host for HSN, contributor to WFLA-TV in Tampa, Florida, and morning show host on WMTX-FM also in Tampa, Florida.
