Meghan Morris, senior reporter at Business Insider, has shifted her coverage and now reports on tech deals and WeWork. She writes about the latest deals and IPOs and works on longer enterprise pieces that take readers inside culture, corporate scandals and financial issues within tech companies. Morris has been on staff since 2018 and most recently covered the asset management industry. Prior to that, she was a senior reporter for Private Equity International.
Wired has hired Julian Chokkattu as senior associate editor, reviews covering new product reviews of consumer electronics. He comes from Digital Trends magazine where he served as mobile and wearables editor.
Allia Alliata di Montereale has been promoted to special projects editor at W magazine. She was most recently an associate fashion editor at the magazine and served as the assistant to the editor in chief. Di Monterelale joined W in 2017 after spending almost two years as the assistant to the West Coast director of Vogue.
Adweek has promoted two to senior editorial positions:
Sue Shellenbarger, the longtime Work & Family columnist at The Wall Street Journal, has announced that she will retire on Jan. 3, 2020. She has been on staff with The Journal since 1980 and was named Chicago bureau chief in 1987. Shellenbarger created the Work & Family column in 1991 amid the rapid rise in working mothers. Her column has won eight national awards, including Best General Interest Column form the National Society of Newspaper Columnists.
L’Officiel USA has named Peter Davis editor in chief. He has previously served as the editor in chief of Avenue, features director of The Daily Front Row, and senior editor at Paper magazine. Davis is also the creator if 57 Newspaper and Original Tribeca, luxury journals for high-end real estate in Manhattan.
Eric Michael Garcia has joined the Washington Post’s Outlook/PostEverything blog as an assistant editor, effective Oct. 14. He comes to The Post from The Hill, where he edited coverage of Congress, elections, and political news. Before that, he reported on congressional campaigns and lawmakers for Roll Call.
