Media Moves at The Wall Street Journal & Parents Magazine, KCIX-FM Radio in Idaho Debuts Morning Show.

The Wall Street Journal has announced three new hires: 

  • Alexa Corse has joined The Journal as a reporter covering election security and cybersecurity based in Washington, D.C. She has been with the outlet since 2017 when she joined as a news intern, before heading across the pond to serve as the 2019 Daniel Pearl Memorial Intern based in London. Prior to that, Corse worked as a Washington bureau intern for The Daily Beast. 
     

  • Jim Christie has joined as a publishing editor with the Journal Pro, based in San Francisco. He makes this move after a near twenty-year endeavor with Reuters as a correspondent covering major U.S. bankruptcy news, energy industry affairs, environmental litigation, financial issues in the Western U.S among other news stories. Christie also served as deputy editor for the Reuters’ Global Markets Forum online community to orchestrate discussions and produced newsletters relating to economic and geopolitical issues.  
     

  • Caitlin McCabe has joined The Journal to cover financial markets. She comes from the Philidelphia Inquirer where she spent four years, first as a metro reporter, followed by a real estate reporter. McCabe makes her return to The Journal after previously serving as a health and science reporter intern in 2014. 

The Arkansas Democrat Gazette has hired Eliza Hussman as its newest managing editor. She comes from serving as VP of audience development for WEHCO Media, the owner of the Democrat-Gazette and other publications. She has also previously served as an executive editor for The Sentinel-Record and Hot Springs on the GO! Magazine for more than one year. 

Elizabeth Young has joined the New York Business Journal as a reporter covering commercial real estate and economic development. Previously she worked for the Albany Business Review for more than four years, most recently as a reporter covering New York state government, economic development policy, taxes, regulation and health care. 

 

Business Insider has made one promotion and made a beat switch for another. 

  • Jessica Leibman has been promoted to global managing editor for Insider. She makes this move up after being an executive managing editor for the outlet for more than four years. Leibman has been with Insider since 2010, prior to that she served as an editor for Big Think and before that as an editor at Conde Nast. 
     

  • Benjamin Goggin has switched beats to serve as a digital culture editor covering internet, memes, influencers, and teenagers. He previously worked on weekend editorial content where he covered breaking news, technology, politics, race and more. Prior to joining Insider he spent more than one year at Digg as a news editor. 

 

Evi Heilbrunn has been tapped by Meredith Corp. to be their newest associate general manager of Health & Parenting vertical, primarily for Parents. She most recently served as a senior director of product management for Everyday Health Group. Heilbrunn has also written for the Philidelphia Inquirer, U.S. News & World Report, and the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.  

 

KCIX-FM “Mix 106” in Boise, Idaho, has debuted a new morning show, “Moug & Carly” with two new hires: 

  • John Moug has joined the “Moug & Carly” morning show to host alongside Carly Cash. He has previously been with XETRA-FM in San Diego where he served as host for more than four years. Moug also spent more than 12 years with KLUC-FM in Las Vegas where he held both the afternoon hosting shift as well as nightly host. 
     

  • Carly Cash has joined the morning show to host alongside John Moug. She has been with KCIX-FM since September 2019. Prior to that, Cash spent more than four years at KAWO-FM in Boise, Idaho as an on-air personality.
