Assuming the role of deputy director of content development at Consumer Reports is Chris Kirkpatrick. Before joining the magazine, he held various roles at the Detroit Free Press, most recently senior news director of business and automotive coverage. Consumer Reports tapped Kirkpatrick primarily to work with its automotive, news and money teams. During his journalism career, which has spanned more than 20 years, Kirkpatrick has worked at a number of papers, including the Herald-Sun in Durham, North Carolina and The Blade in Toledo, Ohio.
