CisionScoop: Susan Abram has left the Los Angeles Daily News where she was a reporter for 15 years. During her time with the paper, she covered healthcare, public health and general assignments. Before joining the Los Angeles Daily News, Abram was a reporter for the Stamford Advocate in Connecticut. 

CisionScoop: CBS Dallas assignment editor Allen Manning has made the move to rival ABC affiliate WFAA-TV as cross-platform managing editor. Prior to KTVT-TV, Manning held positions with KDFW-TV in Dallas and KPRC-TV in Houston. 

CNN has promoted Kyle Blaine to senior editor for campaign coverage. In his new role, he will continue to oversee the KFile investigative team as editor. Before joining the network, Blaine was deputy political editor for BuzzFeed, as well as an associate producer for ABC News.  

The Wall Street Journal said goodbye to deputy financial editor, Dennis Berman. He joined WSJ in 2001 as a telecoms reporter and technology columnist, then went on to cover mergers & acquisitions, money & investing and global deals. h/t Talking Biz News

Executive editor Brad Wieners has departed from Men’s Health. Before Men’s Health, Wieners was the executive features editor and deputy editor with Bloomberg Businessweek, as well as executive editor for Men’s Journal. Currently, there is no update on a new position. 

Jezebel hired Tracy Clark-Flory as a senior writer covering social issues, feminism and civil rights. Clark-Forey has also written for, Vocativ, Cosmopolitan and Elle in the past. 

Tony Maglio has been promoted to TV editor for Maglio has been with the site since 2013, where he started as senior TV reporter. 

Great Moments in Weed History, a recently launched podcast, covers humanity’s relationship with cannabis and a different moment in its cultural history every week. The show was launched, and is co-hosted, by Abdullah Saeed and David Bienenstock. Saeed is a cannabis journalist and personality, as well as host and producer of the TV series Bong Appetit. Bienenstock is an author, and was previously head of content at High Times.

Chief operating officer and editor in chief, Emilie Marcus has left Cell Press at Elsevier in order to pursue a new career with UCLA. Marcus was with Cell Press for 20 years, where she held positions as a neuron editor and vice president of content development.

The Globe Gazette says goodbye to local government and business reporter John Skipper as he retires. Skipper’s reporting career spanned 52 years, and in that time he published 16 books. His career was mostly spent working at the Globe Gazette, with a one-year stint in Mason City. He will continue to freelance in his retirement.
