CisionScoop: Mayukh Sen has left VICE, where he worked as a staff writer for Munchies for the past six months. He is now pursuing freelance opportunities, focusing on food and culture topics.
CisionScoop: KTXL-TV, Sacramento's FOX40, hired Malcolm Hoyle as a news producer. Previously, Hoyle has produced for stations all over California, including KGTV-TV in San Diego, as well as KBAK CBS 29 and KBFX Fox 58 in Bakersfield.
Elias Lopez joined The Washington Post as its new international opinions editor. Previously, he was a journalist and editor for The New York Times in several capacities over the past decade, most recently as editorial director for NYTimes Español.
The Intercept welcomed its new senior politics editor, Briahna Joy Gray. An experienced political multimedia journalist, Gray also co-hosts a podcast called "Someone's Wrong on the Internet," and contributes to Current Affairs.
Anastasia Hendrix has been promoted to managing editor at the Las Vegas Review-Journal. Formerly the assistant managing editor for features at the magazine, she is now second in command of the newsroom. She has been with the Review-Journal since May 2016.
Spectrum Noticias NY1 has launched a new Spanish-language morning news show, "Nueva York Por La Mañana," with the following editorial staff:
- Rosarina Breton joined the morning news team as a breaking news reporter. She has been with the station since 2010.
- Juan Manuel Benitez, who also produces and hosts "Pura Política" with Spectrum Noticias, has also joined the program as a host and reporter. Benitez has been with the station since 2003.
- Teaming up with Benitez is Philip Klint, anchor and producer for Spectrum Noticias. Klint has also been with the station since 2003.
Long-time Palm Beach Post reporter Barbara Marshall has retired. Since 2003, Marshall wrote many features for the paper, focusing on home and garden stories.
Former senior editor for SI.com Mike Harris is now a senior editor at The Athletic, covering collegiate and professional sports. Before SI.com, where he wrote for nearly four years, Harris was a sports editor for The Washington Times.
WXYZ-TV, the ABC Detroit affiliate, brought on reporter Bethany Moore. An experienced news reporter, Moore has worked all over the country, from Hearst Television in Salem, North Carolina, to KLTV in Tyler, Texas, to the Medill News Service in Washington.
After eight years as KAMP-FM's music director and midday host, Michelle Boros has resigned from her position at the Los Angeles station. With an extensive resume that includes KKSN, KDGE, KHKS, and Sirius XM, she is looking forward to pursuing new opportunities.
