Suzanne Boyle food editor

Suzanne Boyle, food editor
Belleville News-Democrat
(618) 239-2664

Suzanne Boyle edits and produces content on local restaurants and dining, healthy eating, natural and organic foods, the food industry and food products. She does write features on local establishments and new menu items, but she does NOT do restaurant reviews.

Pitch her via e-mail. She prefers that pitches are short, have a local connection, and include a picture that is easily accessible. If the story is about food or products, it is more likely to be printed if a high-resolution photo is attached, Boyle notes. Make sure the subject line of the e-mail states the actual subject of the story. Otherwise, she will delete the e-mail. Send material “at least two weeks in advance, if not three or four,” Boyle says.

The Belleville News-Democrat provides local and regional news to eight Illinois counties, with a focus on St. Clair County and Southern Madison County. Its daily circulation is approximately 52,000.
