Carol Azizian, entertainment reporter The Flint Journal (810) 766-6245 cazizian(at)flintjournal.com www.flintjournal.com
Carol Azizian writes for the Today section of the newspaper, covering entertainment, fine arts, local events and general lifestyle features pertaining to Flint, Mich. She also covers events related to entertainment and fine arts in the Detroit area. Azizian says she is not interested in receiving pitches about fashion because she only writes about it twice a year, in the spring and fall.
“We’re a local paper,” Azizian notes. Press releases “would have to be based in the Flint area—mid-Michigan,” she says. She advises public relations professionals to research the newspaper’s audience and pitch stories that are about people from the area. Follow-up calls are NOT necessary. Time-sensitive pitches should be received two to three weeks in advance.
The Flint Journal covers local and state news relevant to residents of Genesee County, located just north of the Detroit metropolitan area. It is published Thursday, Friday and Sunday, with a circulation of approximately 64,000.
