The Press Release: Dead or Alive? Take The Quiz!

Breathe Magazine editor uses social media to reach her audience

Q: How do you use social media at your publication? Which platforms do you like best?

“I use Twitter and Facebook every day for Breathe Magazine. We have a Pinterest account too, but I’m not very active on it. The great thing about social media is the ability to link them up, so I can post something on Facebook and it’s then automatically tweeted in the Twittersphere. Less work and back and forth! Some people are strictly Facebook users or Twitter users, so it’s great to have them linked up so we can grab the attention of both crowds. I personally use both Facebook and Twitter and love them both equally for different reasons.

I’m also a big fan of dashboards such as HootSuite and TweetDeck, which present all your social media info right in front of you in a very organized way. Breathe uses Facebook and Twitter to post stories from our print publication, blog posts and giveaways – as well as get readers’ reactions. It’s important to hear what our readers have to say and social media is a convenient way to get feedback.”
