  • Golin Harris appointed Margaret Shubny as executive director in its Chicago office. She will lead and manage several client relationships and will be a member of the agency’s healthcare practice. She has more than 20 years of experience in health care communications, marketing, strategy development, and media and investor relations. She most recently was managing director of healthcare practice at Burson-Marsteller in Chicago.

  • TeamBuy.ca has named DDB Canada its agency of record after a competitive pitch process involving six other agencies. DDB will implement a PR program in early March for TeamBuy.ca, followed by mass, digital and social elements this summer.
  • Agile Alliance is renewing its six-year relationship with high-tech agency Catapult PR-IR. The agency will provide year-round media, industry analyst and social media support to promote benefits and advancements of Agile-based software development methods, and also will promote the international conference on Agile methods in software development, Agile2012. Also at Catapult-IR, Jeremy Douglas has been promoted to account coordinator, having previously served as public relations assistant since June 2010.

  • Texas-based public relations agency Open Channels Group has announced a number of promotions. Former vice president of communications Chris Turner has been upped to senior vice president of communications and digital, Corey Lark has been named director of digital communications, and Amoya Edwards is the newest account executive at the firm, having graduated from University of North Texas in 2011.
  • Pauline Oudin has joined the US branch of SOPEXA Group as managing director with more than 12 years experience in the advertising and digital marketing industry. Her predecessor, Anabell Bassat, has been appointed director of international strategy within the group’s international sales directorate in France.

  • Los-Angeles-based Harris Shepard Public Relations, Inc., is turning 25 years old. The agency specializes in beauty clients and its longest-standing client is OPI Products Inc., which it started representing 20 years ago. Other brands it has represented include Murad, Jenny Craig and Muscle Milk.
