Layoffs at Bloomberg’s Washington Bureau
Bloomberg News laid off 55 journalists this week, including many respected veteran journalists from the news service’s Washington bureau. On the editing side, those leaving Bloomberg this week include: Gail DeGeorge, an economy and regulation team editor; Ken Fireman, managing editor for government in the non-U.S. Americas; John Walcott, team leader for national security and foreign policy; Mark Rohner, an economics editor; and Mark McQuillan, an editor-at-large.
Layoffs among writers in Washington include: David J. Lynch, a senior writer covering politics and economics; Terry Atlas, a senior writer covering national security and foreign policy; Dawn Kopecki, a senior writer covering energy and commodities; David Lerman, a national security reporter; Carter Dougherty, a reporter covering consumer finance and Bitcoin; Indira Lakshmanan, a senior correspondent covering the State Department and foreign policy, and Peter Gosselin, a senior healthcare analyst for Bloomberg Government.
