LA Times Shuffles Entertainment Team
The Los Angeles Times has announced several promotions and additions to its entertainment staff. Brenda Rodriguez has joined as an arts and entertainment editor, focusing on breaking news and online content. She previously served as executive editor for Wonderwall and Moviefone, as well as deputy film editor at People. Marc Bernardin has been named film editor; he was most recently a senior editor at The Hollywood Reporter. Sarah Rodman will also join as TV editor after working as a television and pop music critic at The Boston Globe since 2006.
Additionally, Greg Braxton has been promoted to deputy TV editor after covering that beat for the paper since 1992. Richard Verrier has been named editor of the Company Town blog, covering the entertainment industry. He has led the blog unofficially since late 2015, and has been on the beat for much of his tenure with The Times, which he joined in 2001. Lastly, longtime calendar staffer Richard Nordwind has shifted duties and now oversees the Sunday Calendar and Arts & Books sections to make room for Bernardin. Nordwind first joined the calendar section in 1998 and served as film editor since 2013. Follow the Los Angeles Times on Twitter for more news from Southern California.
