CisionScoop: Melissa Pelletier joined the School of Thought blog for MDR Education Services and Solutions on Feb. 16 as an education research editor and blogger. An experienced freelance writer, Pelletier was previously a technology contributor at Education World.

MSNBC welcomes David Fahrenthold as its newest political analyst. He will continue to be a political reporter for The Washington Post, where he focuses on the business affairs of President Trump and his family.

Katy O’Donnell has shifted gears over at POLITICO Pro and is now a reporter covering housing and consumer finance. O’Donnell joined POLITICO in 2015, and previously a reporter for CQ Roll Call. h/t Talking Biz News

Martha Stewart Living has named Abbey Kuster-Prokell and James Maikowski as creative director and art director, respectively. Prior to joining the magazine, she was the design director for Real Simple and served as design director for Bed Bath & Beyond. Maikowski comes to MSL from Food & Wine, where he was the art director for over 10 years.

The Chicago Sun-Times has appointed Satchel Price as digital media producer, where he will oversee sports coverage. He has previously been a copy editor and assignment editor for SB Nation, as well as serving as managing editor for Second City Hockey covering the Chicago Blackhawks.

Lawrence Lewitinn has been hired as editor in chief for the newly launched Modern Consensus covering cryptocurrency and blockchain. Lewitinn was previously a deputy editor for Observer Media and was also a producer for Yahoo. h/t Talking Biz News

Maia McCann has announced in a farewell post that Little Things shuttered on Feb. 27. The site had been publishing since 2014 and originally focused on pet care, before branching out into covering food, parenting and DIY projects.
