The Washington Post has welcomed Antonia Noori Farazan as staff writer on WaPo's Morning Mix team, effective July 23. She was previously a Phoenix New Times writer, and before that spent time at New Times Broward-Palm Beach in Florida. She holds a degree from Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.
Susan Fowler Rigetti will join The New York Times Opinion department as technology editor in September. She will commission and write stories on all the ways technology is shaping culture, economy, relationships, politics and play. She is currently the editor in chief of Increment, a how-to publication for technologists and entrepreneurs, which she helped launch. Before that she worked for Uber, and famously penned a blog post about the systematic sexual harassment practices in the company, including her own experiences.
The Lilly, Washington Post's online magazine for millennial women, has hired Lena Felton as multiplatform editor. She will write daily stories, help manage social channels and work on the newsletter, Lily Lines. Felton comes from The Atlantic, where she completed a politics editorial fellowship, and wrote breaking news and feature stories, personal essays and the Politics & Policy newsletter.
Kimberly Guilfoyle and FOX News have parted ways. Guilfoyle was the co-host of The Five as well as a legal analyst appearing on several FOX News Channel shows. She has been with the network since 2006, and is reported to join a Pro-Trump Super PAC.
Tom Cook is joining Entercom as director of music programming for the company's Baltimore cluster WFIL-FM and WWMX-FM. He will oversee AC Today’s 101.9 WLIF and Hot AC Mix 106.5 WWMX. Cook was previously an operations manager at Townsquare Media in Grand Rapids, Michigan, a position he has held since 2011.
The Bozeman Daily Chronicle has hired Abby Lynes as business reporter. She was previously an intern at The Oregonian and reported on housing, development and breaking news stories. Lynes is a recent graduate from the University of Montana with a degree in journalism.
James Overstreet has been appointed editor in chief of Daily Memphian, a new publication set to launch in the Fall and vowing to bring news back to Memphis, Tennessee. Overstreet is currently the associate publisher and executive editor at The Memphis Daily News, a position he has held since 2010. Before that he worked at The Commercial Appeal as business editor, and the Memphis Business Journal as managing editor.
Former Bachelor contestant, Amber Wilkerson, has joined KALC-FM in Denver as midday co-host. She is paired with former weekend host Sean ‘Carson’ Carroll for the 10 a.m.-3 p.m. timeslot. Wilkerson is also known for her fashion blog Every Once in a Style.
Veteran Oklahoma City anchor Lance West has resigned from KFOR-TV, the NBC-owned station in Oklahoma City, after 23 years. West offered his resignation after screenshots of him sexting with a woman, while on set, became public. Besides delivering the news each day as an anchor, West was also the host of Rise and Shine Oklahoma.
WISN-TV, the ABC-affiliated station in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, has said goodbye to longtime reporter Colleen Henry. She has decided to retire from television after a 25-plus career at WISN. She joined the station in 1993 as a reporter, and since then has covered a myriad of stories. Most recently, she served as an investigative reporter.
