Amy Virshup has been named travel editor at The New York Times.She was most recently the deputy metro editor overseeing immigration and education coverage. Virshup joined NYT in 2003 on the Metro desk as the editor of the Sunday Metropolitan section. Prior to that, she worked for The Wall Street Journal as news editor.
Bloomberg News has hired Jeremy Hill as a reporter covering credit. He spent the summer at the news service as a reporting intern on the real estate beat. Before that, Hill was a senior writer for The Post in Athens, Ohio. He has also interned for Columbus Business First.
The Today show on NBC has brought on Jordan J. Frasier as producer. He comes from The Washington Post, where he spent the last year as a video journalist. Prior to that, he worked for NBC's Meet the Press as a producer and digital reporter.
Amy Baxter is the new digital editor for HealthExec. She was promoted after serving as senior writer since she joined the outlet in July. Before that, she spent two years at Aging Media Network. HealthExec covers quality assurance and cost containment, including policies, rules, regulations and best business practices in healthcare.
CNBC's Squawk Box show is parting ways with senior executive producer, Matthew Quayle, who will leave Oct. 23 to be senior executive producer of program development for business news. Quayle oversaw all aspects of Squawk Box and Squawk on the Street. Replacing him as executive producer is Maxwell Meyers, who will join the show from Fast Money.
Tae Kim is the newest digital reporter for Barron's covering business, technology and video game news. He was previously an investing journalist for CNBC.com, where he covered equities and financial markets. Before that, he was an editor at Yahoo! Finance.
The San Diego Reader and the San Diego Union-Tribune have bid farewell to Don Bauder,who is retiring at the age of 82. Bauder has been a prominent business journalist for more than five decades, and started working at the U-T in 1973 as business editor. His journalism career began in 1964 at Business Week.
Anita Bonita has joined WCBS-AM radio in New York as a weekend anchor. She is also an assignmnet editor for FiOS1 News. She's best known as part of the original sign-on staff at Z-100 in New York.
Julio Gabrial Acevedo De Jesús will move to the New York office of WNBC-TV the NBC affiliate in New York as a reporter on Nov. 2. He joined the station in 2017 and has been the San Juan Bureau reporter since then. Prior to that he was a news correspondent for the Puerto Rico Olympic Committee in London and Rio De Janeiro.
