CBS News has announced the addition of a dedicated correspondent team to the network’s flagship morning program “CBS This Morning.” Their reporting will also be featured on the CBS Evening News, streaming network CBSN and all other CBS News platforms:
· CBS News’ David Begnaud has become a lead national correspondent and will continue to deliver coverage on important breaking news stories. He has been with CBS News since 2015 and has covered major news stories including the shooting at the nightclub Pulse in Orlando. Before that he reported for KTLA-TV in Los Angeles.
· Jericka Duncan has been named national correspondent of the morning program and delivers original reporting and interviews. She has been with CBS News since 2013 as a correspondent and has reported on significant stories including the accusations of R. Kelly, Bill Cosby and Harvey Weinstein. Prior to CBS, Duncan was a reporter for KYW-TV in Philadelphia.
· Anna Werner has been named consumer investigative correspondent for “CBS This Morning.” She was most recently a CBS News corresponded out of Dallas and has delivered groundbreaking reporting on consumer safety and whistleblower stories. Werner is the recipient of numerous awards including two Peabody Awards, two duPont Awards, three Investigative Reporters and Editors awards, three Society of Professional Journalists Awards, five Edward R. Murrow Awards, three Scripps-Howard Awards, a George R. Polk Award and 33 Emmy Awards.
· Vladimir Duthiers will deliver the first look at stories each day for “CBS This Morning.” He is also a CBS News correspondent and a CBSN anchor. Duthiers is a Peabody and Emmy Award-winning journalist and has covered a range of breaking news and feature stories. He joined CBS in 2014 after spending four years at CNN.
Alycia Cohen has joined WSJ. Magazine as associate market editor. She comes from Vanity Fair, where she was on staff since 2016, most recently as associate market editor. Prior to that, she was an associate editor at the Editorialist and a writer for Chaos Magazine.
The Daily Beast has hired Blake Montgomery as a reporter covering technology and Silicon Valley; he starts in July. He was most recently a reporter for BuzzFeed News where he covered news, politics, tech, and social media. Before that, he served as a reporter and opinion editor for education industry pub EdSurge.
Casey Sullivan will join Business Insider as private equity reporter on June 17. He comes from Bloomberg Law where he most recently served as a senior editorial director and helped launch Big Law Business, a publishing platform covering the business of law. Before that he was a correspondent for Reuters and has also reported for the Los Angeles Daily Journal and Seacoast Media Group.
Meredith Corp. has sold one of the most iconic sports titles, Sports Illustrated, to Authentic Brands Group. ABG will assume the marketing, business development and licensing for the SI brand, and Meredith will continue to operate the print magazine and website. Editor in chief Chris Stone and publisher Danny Lee will remain at the helm for at least two more years. Meredith acquired SI as part of its purchase of Time Inc. in early 2018.
WPHT-AM radio in Philadelphia has launched a new morning program, “The Rich Zeoli Show” filling in the vacant 5:30 – 9 a.m. slot. Rich Zeoli is the host and has moved from hosting afternoon to his new time. He has been with the station since 2010 and has also previously hosted evenings.
