The Atlantic will bring on Jane Yong Kim as the magazine’s new online culture editor starting November 21. She will be replacing Sophie Gilbert, who will transition into a staff writer role for the publication. Kim had served as the culture editor of The Village Voice since this past March, and was the essays editor at Racked for previous half year after spending two years as the opinion editor at Al Jazeera America. Gilbert has been the culture editor at The Atlantic since January 2015, and prior to that was a senior editor for the magazine’s iPad app. She has previously served as the arts editor for The Washingtonian.
